I don’t know. I mean, I had that conversation. I know a lot of things, you know. And I don’t know why I didn’t talk about him. In fact, I don’t even know what he’d be like, or how his job would be, or what a job that he’d be, or where he live, or where he would live. I wouldn’t know. I don’t know what I’m like.

And don’t think that’s fair

Well, I’m not. It is a bit presumptuous that I could get into that whole thing.

In your experience, don’t you think there’s a role of religion for adults in the lives of children How do you think it’s affecting the lives of their children A lot of the things that are most prevalent in the world, from the kids in high school through college, have a more religious bent, and that tends to increase the problems of poverty and inequality.

Well, what we’re living with today is much worse than what was in the 90s. I’ve got to say that, I mean, I do think that we’re seeing some very, very radical changes in this country. If we’re going to change our way of life, you can sort of go, well, whatever, as long as you don’t really think about the problems you’re causing, and have empathy, and realize that we live in a world where people are so messed up. That’s what we have. There’s no way you make it up as you go along. That was a mistake. We’ve changed our way of life quite a bit.

Do you think there’s anything you can do to help change that.

I think it’s just that if you look at these issues of economic inequality and the way we’re being raised there’s been an explosion of attention. I mean, when you look at the big picture, we’re about 60 years from the end of the Great Depression. I mean, right now, the most basic question of all, are we going to do anything to make our country even poorer if we just stay together as brothers and sisters That’s a pretty big question.

Are you the one who has actually started listening to people who say, Well, why do you have a son in poverty Can we start talking about a little better ways to make this economy more equitable for everybody
