The funny thing that the whole thing got really weird was when John said I’d like to do that but no luck. And that’s when I knew no other way. I was just thinking, Oh God, I want to do that but no luck. And I got out of a balloon. I couldn’t get in my boat, and it was all downhill downhill. My mom told me how much it was going to make her cry and how great it was going to be. And the whole thing just blew out of my mind at the time. We had a big family, a lot of great friends.

Oh my gosh. I’m always thinking about ways to improve it. The challenge with this project, it’s such a fun way to put on a balloon. It’s so fun to be able to build my own balloon without a lot of effort. And that’s why we put the balloon up for sale. If something like that ever came about, I’m definitely thinking about it.

The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is in the process of issuing guidelines to employees and others who support Veterans living in conflict states around the world. This is a significant milestone as Congress continues to act and the Department of Veterans Affairs continues to evolve with each new update.

The guidelines in effect now require VA leaders to ensure the information provided to U.S. Veterans does not include information submitted to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as part of a formal or official policy review. The guidance includes guidelines about how information on VA websites may be used in providing more accurate information about the actions on the ground in the war-related areas and information about the effectiveness of the VA as a national service provider in helping to promote health and prevent disease.

This guidance will be effective immediately as part of the 2016 VA Annual Report.

The new guidelines also require employers to disclose information about their employees that doesn’t match with the training and certifications they provide. For example, VA will not be required to provide information about the training of Veterans for new job openings in conflict countries.

The VA needs to change their culture around what military training is, what veterans can expect from it, and for how long those training sessions will be. The current policy is about military service, not about civilian employment, it’s about what you expect from your spouse or family
