Yeah, he was really cool during that whole situation and I’d be lying if I said he was. He was really nice to me and told me that if you put a video on it was not real for the show but he loved it like he did. But what we learned from this was that we can’t say anything to each other like that. A good part of being a comedian comes from doing that.

On the original show

We do a lot of our jokes and we try our best to create funny jokes to get people laughing. If there were some people trying to talk and not doing their job well enough in any way, you’re not doing it for the fans. It’s the way it is, when people see that you’re a comedian or someone who wants to be funny, and they try to do it, it’s OK because it’s not just for the fans. It’s our job to be funny.

On the current crop of comedians who have done good but left no room for the other side

I don’t give a fuck about the way people treat us. We all look at each other like we’re bad and have no idea what the future is. I think as an audience you have to understand the whole ‘Hey, we don’t know what’s hot’ thing. So I don’t think there are too many good, good comedians there who come out as very good or at least, the ones who didn’t take their job seriously. Maybe even too many. You’re not going to get that diversity. The one thing I want to point out is that it’s not about how good you are. It’s about the character, the performance, the quality of your material and what makes the audience laugh or get that happy response to the jokes. The character is not just something that they say but they’re going to be around every single day. You’re going to see people in any show trying to make friends that you could not, which is good, but it’s not like we’re talking about them. That could be a nice feature of a show like Weeds or any of those shows where there are so many options for what to say. So it’s just fun to see how comedians are like that for you guys to be doing.
