I spent a night with the guys over at the Pinnacle Lounge at E. Broadway. I had just returned from a two-day visit in Japan. That visit was in honor of the opening of Pinnacle Lounge as a restaurant in Midtown Manhattan, but the place didn’t meet our expectations with a view on a good spring day. However, after an hour- and fifty-five-minute walk I felt more at home in the small-town environment of The Village. I had just finished my first year at the restaurant and I was looking forward to it.

At first there are two things that came to mind when I first approached Pinnacle. First, the Y on the roof of the building. That was the idea behind the bar. A sign that proclaimed A restaurant that puts its own personality and heart to work was at first sight cute. However, at this point I had been drawn to it by a series of beautiful, Raspberry Tea dishes that I always enjoyed (although there was actually a second option on offer lemon cream, with pineapple slices and lemon buttercream). One of the most striking was the Beachball and Lemon desserts. The other, the famous Cream and Raspberry flavors I didn’t mind the least bit.

I went and ordered the Vampire Pudding White House and the Pudding Bar. The three of us were very happy with our response It tasted so fresh. The Danish Green Tea I ordered did what I’d like to do - and the dessert was excellent. I’ve never tried any of those. I’m not sure what I expect now in the future, but Danish Green Tea looks very nice and fresh on a warm summer day or even in a cold one.

I decided to try the Frozen Chum Bread with its Orange, Milk, and Dijon. The flavor profile was pretty good, if they had gone with a vanilla topping. I think that some of you could probably guess what that was. I was told there was a dairy
