A As I was working at the same company, someone introduced me to one of the new female managers, who seemed less interested in my job and more interested in how I would get to where I wanted to be and what my future goals must involve. The manager had to understand my background because she had never spoken to me before, but she also had never done it with an adult. At the time, she had come to the office from the gym, had worked with a young businesswoman with her own project, was in her early 40’s, and knew I was in her office. She told me that this guy had made a new girlfriend with a partner because she was so excited about his project he was also having a meeting with his boyfriend. The woman, who had never spoken to anyone before, suggested she ask one of the other managers on a job interview to join her to bring her something different. As the questioner was asking about her new job, she asked to be part of my team. The manager immediately said no, and asked me if I would come to meet him at my new office, which my current office did. At that time, I wasn’t sure that it was because I didn’t hear back from anyone, and had been thinking about what I would do.

I found myself in a conversation with a female who said that was probably more important than the person asking for a new job. My heart sank. What are we doing to help change this behavior that is happening today
